Over the past 12 months, my team and I have had the opportunity to work with the Department of Finance as they have rolled out the GovTEAMs platform to over 90,000 users across a variety of government departments. Personally, this has been an exciting opportunity to be involved in because I’ve been able to watch as numerous government departments have adopted one of the best of breed collaboration platforms which is available on the market today. The rate of adoption has impressed me as these modern collaboration tools are being used to securely bridge information sharing across agencies and industry partners.
Given the current climate, the GovTEAMs platform was released at a fortuitous time, as the platform has proven critical to supporting staff as they switch over to working from home. The new abilities bring communities and teams together to collaborate, meet and share information securely and invite industry as guests to work together has enabled many departments to continue operating.
Traditionally I’ve seen large organisations struggle with change management and driving technology adoption, however, it has been amazing to see the rate of adoption of GovTEAMs and how quickly and easily the new platform has been integrated into the day to day operations. With the new platform, each GovTEAMs member is provided with a suite of tools that they can use on a daily basis to securely collaborate and share information. The platform still holds many untapped opportunities to automate business processes and create a visually stunning dashboard to further enable and enhance the sharing of information.
The Department of Finance has provided the GovTEAMs platform to federal and state government and it is now up to each organisation to understand how they can use the new suite of tools in a way that supports their business.
